WHAT IS IT?

The bar coaching at The Joseph Boroski Bar & Hospitality School Bangkok is like no other bar class you'll find anywhere in Thailand. One hundred classic and standard cocktails are covered using Joseph's original method-based recipes that ensure the highest level of consistency. Students are encouraged to focus on quality and local ingredients and shown how to correctly balance any cocktail to individual tastes while maximizing efficiency in both quality-driven and high-volume environments. A high priority is put on attention to detail, hygiene, and organization.

WHO IS IT FOR?

This course is designed in a way to accommodate a broad range of experience and skill levels, and can also be taken more than once—each time with different focus—to continue to develop a student's knowledge and expertise. The 14 training stations, specially designed by Joseph Boroski, allow every student to work simultaneously and independently. Current and future bartenders as well as cocktail enthusiasts, waitstaff, barbacks, and chefs can all benefit and fit well in this course—as long as making cocktails is either or both an interest or concentration.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?

Students can expect to learn and develop all techniques and skills required and necessary to create the best possible cocktails. Each participant can work at his or her own pace to ensure the maximum benefit from the class. Upon completion, individuals will be able to look at cocktail making with a greater appreciation to detail and a better understanding of efficient production and consistent results.

HOW LONG IS IT?

Each course is comprised of 5 separate individual classes that each span the length of 1 hour and 45 minutes. You can view the upcoming schedule here.

WILL ALL PARTICIPANTS MAKE ALL 100 COCKTAILS EACH?

Each person attending the class will receive Joseph Boroski's original method-based recipes for 100 classic and standard cocktails, but will only train on specific cocktails in as many categories that are sufficient for his or her skill level. Beginners or people participating in the class for the first time will first practice the methods using water and then move on to making cocktails.

WHAT ABOUT ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS?

If you have absolutely no knowledge or experience in cocktails or tending bar and would like to get up to speed before joining many people in a class, special one-on-one or small group coaching for beginners is available. Please send your request here.

WHAT ABOUT JOINING JUST FOR FUN?

Individuals that have no professional affiliation to food & beverage and would like to join the class for the knowledge, fun, and/or experience are strongly encouraged to join. People like this are called cocktailians and are loved by all in this class. If you would like to join something not quite as involved, please check out our individual workshops, which are themed one-time cocktail experiences for both the lay-person and the professional alike.

IS THIS A GOVERNMENT ACCREDITED COURSE?

Each student that successfully completes this course—and for each time—will be given a specific skill level and a corresponding notice of completion. This is in no way meant to be or represent a degree, authentic certification, or diploma. The Joseph Boroski Bar & Hospitality School Bangkok is currently going through the proper channels in order to attain government accreditation as a training facility.
